From PreK-12th grade, I attended Tower Hill School, a private school in Wilmington, Delaware (where I'm currently employed!). I played field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse in high school, and I also enjoyed participating in the school musicals.
I then went on to Haverford College where I played field hockey and graduated in 2013 with a degree in Biology. My senior thesis explored a gene that caused blisters to form on C. elegans (aka microscopic worms!). After spending hours looking at blistered worms, I decided that working in a lab was not for me. I spent my summers throughout high school and college working at several sports and day camps, and I knew that education was my path. When a middle school science teaching position opened at my alma mater, I excitedly took the job. I have just finished my fourth year of teaching 5th and 6th grade and coaching at the middle and high school levels. In summer of 2018, I will complete my Master's Degree in Education from Michigan State University. This past spring break, I got married in Stone Harbor, NJ, one of my favorite places in the world. My husband and I enjoy doing outdoor activities together, like gardening, hiking, and bike riding. I continue my love for field hockey by playing in some adult leagues, and I enjoy spending time with family and at the beach! |
